Also, please stop calling it the “left breast.” That’s weird.
No placement creates more debate than the left chest.
At Forte Clothing, we use a subtle 3-degree upward adjustment on left-chest prints. Because the shoulders naturally slope downward, a perfectly level print on a flat shirt can appear to fall toward the armpit once it’s worn. Our adjustment compensates for that slope, so the print looks level where it actually matters: on the body.
This may look a little weird when folded, but TRY IT ON and see how much more level it looks when worn!
3° rule
So, we have a saying in the shop: The Aesthetic is KING.
At Forte Clothing, we don’t rely on rigid T-shirt print placement rules like, “three fingers below the neckline,” or, “every front print should be 10.5 inches wide.” Those measurements can be useful starting points, but they don’t determine the final placement.
What matters most is how the custom screen print looks when the garment is actually being worn.
The focal point of the artwork, the overall composition of the design, the cut of the shirt, and the shape of the body all affect where a print should sit. We adjust every print placement to make sure the finished garment looks intentional, balanced, and natural.
